I caught a grand total of two minutes of tonight's debacle...

and all the footage I saw was of Roli kicking his own ass to save the game. How depressing must it be to finally, finally be a starting NHL goalie, only to have an AHL team in front of you?

I watched the highlights of the game on NHL.com, it was the first I've seen of the Oilers since the trade.


I can't get over how much Roloson looked like Bill Ranford with that oldschool jersey on. Billy was the man, my first favourite player.

Also, you should do an ex-oilers hot off someday, maybe two of them, like a glory years hot-off and a oh-god-did-we-ever-suck years one. Culminating in a Hottest Oiler of All Time hot-off. Ranford would do pretty damn well I should think. In my masculine opinion. One of the better mullets the Oilers have ever had.

I feel the same way watching Tim Thomas. This year is a little better than last year, but he's battled to be a starter for what? 55 shots from the Flyers? Poor Roli gets so emotional, too, which has got to be even more tiring. At some point his heart's just gonna give out.

Agree with you Alana.
Love Roli, I feel he does his part every game (and earlier in the season, pushed himself even more which probably resulted in those outbursts of frustration) despite the efforts and results in front of him i.e., the ok defence and the disappointing 'scoring machine' hoped for at the beginning of the season.

I know you love him Alana, but I have to disagree. Granted I only suffered through the 3rd, but he looked pretty bad on that 4th goal.

It's supposed to be a team effort, not, "The Edmonton Oilers starring Dwayne Roloson."

Did anyone hear the CBC guy say that Roli's only shortcoming the last few games is that he couldn't goaltend and score at the same time? Something like that ...
