Your Champion, Ladies and Gents...

Last night, I had the honour of presenting the Hot Oil Oilogosphere Hot-Off champion, Mike W, with a certificate commemorating his victory. As you can see from my expression, it was thrilling to be in the presence of greatness. Squee!

In addition to the certificate, Mike's prizes included a bottle of wine (for romancing MAB "the ladies") and a '95-'96 hockey sticker and activity book, featuring Chris Chelios and Peter Forsberg on the cover. Very exciting!

Congrats, Mike! And a big thanks to Leah for the photos.

what? no hot tamales? no hot rods? mike, you got ripped off...although a bottle of wine is not too shabby as long as it's not the sparkling variety. don't go wasting that on bergy. oh sure, he's got a bullet shot, but aren't you just a little bothered that he and simpson have the same hair?

Hey, let Ethan Moreau have the Hot Tamales, I'll take a bottle of wine and a 1996 sticker book anyday (in fact, that sounds like a pretty good Friday night right there).

And Jordi, I always cock my left eyebrow whenever I accept awards. It's just "my thing."

By the way, the wine looks pretty awesome -- not that cheapo twist cap stuff I used in the video.
