Day 14: Not Roli versus Not Roli

Today we have another rookie battle on our hands, pitting Mathieu "Crooked Landing Strip" Roy against Brad Winchester, who the Prez has accurately described as looking like someone's mother.













I don't have much to say about these guys except that neither of them are Roloson, who will be thrown into the ring with Tjarnqvist tomorrow. To put you in the right frame of mind heading into this battle, here's a ridiculously cute photo of some Roli-on-Moreau action.

Not sure if this is a reason to vote for Roy or not, but put a dapper Van Dyke and pair of specs on Mathieu and he looks eerily like my hubby.

Guess I'll stick with the French Canadian guys.

So, I was all ready to vote for Winchester, but after these freaky discriptions of the boy which are TOTALLY TRUE, I have to leave my vote with Mathieu Roy. He's much cuter without the "crooked landing strip" stuck to his face, anyway.

Winchester cost us a second round pick and doesn't bring his physical game to the rink often enough for my liking. Roy was drafted in the 2000th round and has played a game in the NHL. Winchester went to a US college and if he weren't in the NHL he'd be teaching in a small college and wearing a great big sweater and scarf humming the theme from Love Story.

Roy would be driving truck and having a better time because he's got some dirt under his nails and knows the fear of having very little.*


*This part has been made up, but I think it was needed to offer up a solid reason to vote for a guy who looks a little crazy.

Winchester looks wholesome as apple pie and like he needs to be corrupted, but seeing how he's a hockey player, I'm sure its too late.
