Day 4: Into the depths of the 'sphere

Lord Bob, in his words: My favourite Oiler is Marc-Andre Bergeron, because he's so small and lovable and unpopular and I just want to pick him up and squeeze until it doesn't hurt anymore. As my parents will tell you, I am not losing my hair quickly enough (although I only turned twenty December 24, so plenty of time left). I like my ladies to be smart, sassy, and willing to leave me alone when I want to be left alone. My favourite colour is eight. I think Mark Messier is the best player of all time and that any city which builds a hockey arena after the AJHL team leaves needs to be atomic bombed. If I weren't an Oilers fan, I'd probably cheer for the San Jose Sharks out of a misplaced sense of pity.

Lowetide: Let me make this clear, Lowetide is not Shawn Horcoff. Instead of finding the picture of someone who is definitely not Lowetide, I just looked at the post he wrote on my birthday and used that picture. I think we can all agree that he is the blogger that we aspire to be. He teaches us. We believe in Lowetide.

Marc Ciampa writes articles on Edmonton Oilers.com. Not to bias the vote, but before he started writing for the Oilers, I found articles about the Moose (yes, farm team for the Canucks) and worse, the Canucks. I'm pretty confident that the Marc Ciampa picture I found is also not him. But that's up to you to decide.

Congrats Lowetide! (with 63.7% of vote)

Girlfriend: "Honey, we should take a walk in the park today."

Lord Bob: "Fuck off!"

Lord Bob gets my vote, not least because he used a real picture.

Ow. My eyes suddenly hurt when I log onto the page today. Like, they're burning really badly. It's almost like they saw something really, really hot and they couldn't cope with the hotness. This is why I avoid mirrors.

On the one hand, Lowetide may very well have gone to elementary school with my dad. On the other, a vote against Horcoff is a vote for the Flames. Hm...

Lowetide's beginning to open up the gap on this one. Like, "1986-87 Oilers vs. 2006-07 Oilers" gap. The Unofficial Lord Bob Fan Club has got to step up their game!

Although I could always be Marc Ciampa.

I voted for lord bob. Reasons:

1. He looks like my son, and my son is among the finest people I know.

2. His bio is funny. I mean actually funny and this isn't easy to do when you're trying.

3. He is young enough to write he wants a woman who is smart, sassy and willing "to leave me alone when I want to be left alone." Mine line would have been "I want a woman who'll check my pulse if I'm on the bathroom floor, fill the beer fridge when it's empty and understand when I'm watching G7 of the SCF with the sound down is a good time to tell me I'm a good husband and father."

I appreciate the kind words folks, but lord bob is the winner here.

Lowetide that was very romantic, I hope I get a wife like that :)

My ex at the time of game 7 was complaining I was watching hockey. During game 7... of the Stanley Cup finals... with my team in it.

Holy crap, Shawn. That blows my mind.

I'm torn on this one. On the one hand, I'm sure LT is my grandfather, and how can I vote against Grandpa? On the other, Lord Bob actually submitted a pic. That takes balls, especially since he's wearing a Jays hat.

I gotta go with Lord Bob. Sorry Granddad.

That Horcoff pic may in fact be my favorite hockey pic of all time, by the way. Looks like he's about to line up with Howe and Lindsay, and then meet Fitzgerald for a drink afterwards.

I assume to vote I just say who I want to vote for in here?

If that's the case, go Bob!

Thinking about MAB during sex is a total turn off. Fuck that.

Oilogosphere = Ugliogosphere

But as long as you're having fun.

Turns out Adblock was removing "blogpoll" from my browser display. I just loaded up the site from a campus computer and saw the voting graphic for the first time.

Tough as nails.

Andy it was the most absurd thing I had frankly ever heard. I couldn't come up with a rational argument other than... WHAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND ABOUT THIS!?!? :)

Any old hockey game? No big deal. On that night she should've been in an Oilers jersey cheering with me and comforting me when they lost damnit!

...and that's part of why she's an _ex_ :)

Hey! I have inner beauty! My mom says I'm cool!

Also, I'm winning the Comments Thread poll. Ergo, I think I should get a special bracket with somebody less popular than Lowetide in a kind of round 1a. Okay, I don't really think that. Still!

Lowetide, that was so romantic. I am glad I voted for you. :) Nothings hotter than a man who knows what is most important in a relationship.

Be honest: did you blame her for the loss? I certainly would have. In fact, I am now.

That's definitely not Marc Ciampa. He'll get a kick out of the thread, even though he got clobbered.

Andy, I didn't think of that, but now when I consider the level of her negative vibes... yes, she is at fault!
